"Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life."
~ Pablo Picasso
"What moves men of genius, or rather what inspires their work, is not new ideas, but their obsession with the idea that what has already been said is still not enough."
~ Eugene Delacroix
"When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college- that my job was to teach people how to draw. She stared back at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?"
~ Howard Ikemoto
"In a sense each painting becomes somewhat of an experiment, which of course means there is always a risk of screwing up. But that all adds to the excitement and sometimes my biggest gains as an artist come from being forced to deal with a painting that is not working: through this discipline comes growth. On the other side of this coin are the little miracles that sometimes occur quite by accident; when paint seems to swirl magically into paint, forming textures and nuances my conscious mind would never have come up with."
~Brom
