Artist's Comments

Holy crap did this take a long time!

I hope you all enjoy this, I put a lot into it and learned oh so much! (a lot of the learning was stuff that goes on the "don't do that again" list :slow:)

So I used both Painter and photoshop (don't bother asking what versions, I never look nor care), mostly painter, to create this. And I am mightily thankful to everyone who offered their insight at different levels of this picture. Thank you, you know who you are :). I hope you all enjoy this.

(Final thoughts - look a female for once!)

(full view!)

EDIT: I just wanted to thank both =Metryx and ^silentkitty for their support of my image and the Daily Deviation. I will read and reply to all comments that I can sometime around Monday. Until then, many thanks for a very surprising morning indeed.

Fantastic man.. I love the contrast and the color brightness. And aren't heroines supposed to wear alot less..? XD

The highest reward for man's toil is not what he gets for it, but what he becomes by it.

Thanks Luc, I'm really happy with that contrast/brightness combo, feels very illustrative to me. I hear that heroines are indeed supposed to wear less, but you know me, I follow my own drum beat ;). Penguins, fire, lack of sleep, and well clothed women :omg:

Wow... this is great - once again you blow KIRIchan away! :wow: I'll just go into detail as to what I like - which would be everything, so brace yourself. (And slide on your tummy if you like. :XD: )

First of all, the coloring's gorgeous! It may be a nightfall scene but the colors are lush and very well blended. It's beautiful! I've never used Painter before, but I can imagine how much you did, look at all that colored detail, right down to the shine of light and varying shadows. The shade of skin (I see they're all different for everyone, it must be so hard and time consuming, what great patience...), the hair, the texture... scales... all very perfect! And the expressions! (Psst... I like the evil creature thingies. They're like the yakuza, only cooler. :XD: ) Did I mention I love the clouds in the background? Wispy, yet defined?

Your linework is also very well done! I don't know how to describe, but wow! And the perspective... if I go anymore, I'll cry... :crying: Yrindalesan's artwork is wonderful!

Overall, the design and work... it's beautiful. KIRIchan shall fav this! It looks exactly like one of those playing cards...

A leather miniskirt and metal bra do not good protection in combat make, anyway. Plus, if that's all you've got on, where do you hide your extra dagger/poison darts/ninja death star?
Yay for heroines with a bit of realism, even if she does look doomed.

If you go by double negatives, two wrongs DO make a right. And three rights make a left, so six wrongs=one left.
