I wanted to send a quick thank you to those who came by and said hi - this convention ranked among one of my best as far as sales and crowd response goes thus far. As usual we had enough penguin print sales to put all of my other images to shame, but at least some unexpected pictures performed alright.

Some of my favorite experiences:

It's always cool when a well established artist or creator comes by and purchases a penguin print - it's surreal to think that a professional artist on a higher caliber than I probably has that in their work studio. Weird.

Brom looked at my work! We even chatted a bit, it was very nifty. I was very happy to see that he brought some originals with him for us all to look at, the paintings were beautiful, and the lineart/sketch work was fascinating to look at - I am proud to say that I purchased one of these lineart pieces (now framed and waiting for wall space) and will firmly put the advice that I got from him to good use. He now has a sketch from ~ShadowGryphan as well, whether he wanted one or not haha.

A young man came up having purchased a penguin shirt back in 2007 with a sketch. He enjoyed it so much that he brought a sketchbook with him to the show and had various creators start to draw penguins in it. By far one of my favorite fans of the year so far - that's the sort of reaction that starts to make you feel like you're on the right track. I may dislike making these penguins to some extent - but the fan reaction is what makes it worth it.

So yeah, made new friends, saw some old ones, established a connection or two - and generally enjoyed myself. Surprisingly this was the least stressful weekend I've had this entire year..... the week before it? Not so much, but the weekend itself was quite nice.

With all of this in mind - be aware that I am moving on Sunday, so my internet access will be limited in the evenings for a little while until we get that connected.... and it isn't a big priority compared to everything else. I will be able to reply to people from work though, so don't worry about it too much.... just don't expect much art to be uploaded for a bit.

And a further "keep this in mind" note - This summer is gonna involve some of my best art to date - I have some amazing things lined up that some of you will go squirrelly over. The new penguin (that some of you saw at ECCC!) will be uploaded eventually, and I have some graphite pieces in the works again after ages of not doing full page graphite art - they will likely involve digital painting, but I can put up both versions I figure. On the immediate list we're looking at pending list of gargoyles, a medusa, something involving ethereal undead and a holy warrior, aaand a super secret project in no particular order.
